Policy of Charging

The European Social Science Archives Journal charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) for articles submitted as of May 26, 2022. The APC is to be paid before the article enters the peer review process. Once a manuscript is submitted, if plagiarism check and initial evaluation by the editorial board are positive, the APC payment will be requested before the peer review process begins. Authors are notified by the editorial board to make the APC payment. The peer review process commences only after the APC payment. Under no circumstances is payment made before receiving the notification email. After the APC payment, the peer review process for the manuscript starts. Authors are informed by the editorial board during this process.

The Article Processing Charge (APC) is a model developed for the publication and open access of academic/scientific articles. This fee can be considered as the fee paid by the author to the publisher for the processes (peer review, editorial work, writing and proofreading) carried out on an article submitted to the journal for evaluation and publication, and thereafter made available to readers (open access) in continuous publication.

When an author pays the article processing fee, their article is made Open Access according to the Gold Open Access model. Under this model, the fee that should be paid by the reader is covered by the author due to open access.
